Your CSV contents are processed in your browser. RowMerge has no file-upload endpoint and no account system.

What happens to your files

When you select a file, your browser reads it into memory. A browser worker parses and merges its contents. Your download is generated locally. The tool does not send file contents, filenames, column names, cell values, or generated files to a server.

RowMerge does not save your files to cookies, local storage, or a remote database. Clearing selected files or closing the tab discards the tool’s in-memory copies. Files you choose to download remain on your device until you remove them.

Basic usage analytics

This site can be deployed with optional Plausible-compatible usage analytics. When enabled, it sends page views and a small set of tool events: selecting files, trying the sample, starting a merge, a successful merge, a merge failure, and clicking download. Tool events contain only count ranges and settings, never file contents, filenames, header names, cell values, or error text.

The analytics service receives ordinary connection information such as your IP address and browser user agent and may use it to estimate country and aggregate visits. RowMerge does not set analytics cookies or create user accounts. The browser’s Do Not Track preference is respected. Analytics is disabled when no analytics domain is configured. This privacy page does not load analytics.

Hosting

Like other websites, the hosting provider receives your IP address, browser information, and the requested page when it serves the website. The provider may retain access and security logs under its own policies. These web requests do not include the files you select in the tool.

Export safety

Formula protection is enabled by default. It prefixes potentially executable spreadsheet cells with an apostrophe in the downloaded CSV. You can switch it off for data you trust. This feature changes the download only; the preview shows original values.

Using the tool on a shared device

Close the tab when you finish and remove downloaded files when appropriate. RowMerge cannot control your browser’s download history, operating system, extensions, or spreadsheet application.
